Quartet Iberi

Tbilissi  String Quartet was created in 2004.Today, it is regular and active participant of the Tbilisi concert scene and of numerous local festivals.The repertoire of the ensemble incorporates works by classic and contemporary composers. The Quartet devotes special attention to the music by Georgian composers. The  mission of the Quartet is to popularize Georgian chamber music.The members of the Quartet each has had  an extensive solo and ensemble career.

 

Giorgi Khaindrava (I violin) graduated with honors from the Tbilisi State Conservatory in 1997,  He then completed post-graduate studies  from the same institution in 2002. Khaindrava is currently an artist of the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, and also engaged in a successful solo career.  He has taken part in several festivals and music events in Georgia and abroad.  His repertoire is rich in contemporary Georgian music.  Khaindrava often performs in the regions of Georgia.

 

Tamar Bulia (II violin) graduated with honors from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 1990.  In 1992, she successfully completed the Conservatoire’s post-graduate studies.  Among Tamar Bulia’s achievements as a solo and chamber ensemble musician are the first prize at the Republic of Georgia Classic Music Competition and a diploma from the Shostakovic competition (Russia).  Tamar Bulia has performed extensively in Georgia and abroad, including at several music festivals.  In 2000-2003, she was part of the World Chamber Festival Orchestra. Tamar Bulia is an associate professor at Tbilisi State Conservatoire.  

 

Irakli Japaridze (viola) graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 1993.  He completed post-graduate studies (Aspiranture) at the Conservatoire in 1995.  Japaridze is one of the best viola artists in Georgia.  He has greatly contributed to the popularization of the viola and chamber music created by contemporary Georgian composers.  In the past, he worked as the concertmaster of the viola group at the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazava (Japan).  Currently, Japaridze is with the Black Sea Orchestra and teaches viola at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire as  an associate professor.

 

Giorgi Jorjadze (cello) graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 2004 and joined Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Symphony Orchestra as the concertmaster of the cello group.  He also regularly performs as a member of the festival orchestra led by a conductor Justus Frantz. From 2011 he is part of the Festival Orchestra “Facebook’s Virtuoze”.  Jorjadze has had a successful solo career in Georgia
